Pirate Radio

Aside form hip-hop, most of the music I listen to comes primarily from the UK. Grime, garage, 2-step, dubstep, jungle, funky house, etc. The roots of the music stems primarily from undergrounds raves, and an almost infinite number of pirate radio stations such as Deja vu FM, Flex FM, SubJam FM, and my personal favourite RINSE FM. Before the internet this was the #1 way to keep current with the newest tracks, and mc clashes within your scene. Unfortunately for whatever reason North Americans we were pretty much robbed of this experience. The distinct sound of a crackly mic, and fresh riddims straight from the home studio of some young producer were never really heard on our airwaves, but they’re literally the glue that put together electronic music as we know today.

Last night I was made aware of a short documentary that I think everyone should watch. It was so inspiring that I’m sitting here all day trying to figure out how much money I need to make this happen.

Check it out.  Watch out for appearances by Scratcha (Rinse), Logan Sama (KISS 100), Jammer, and many others.

HERE IS THE LINK.
I found it to be really annoying that the video auto plays so here is the link, I still urge you to watch it!
